Lafayette established as coal mining town in the
late 1800's, was a thriving community until a lull in demand for
coal shut down the mines in the area. After years of being quiet
agricultural community, this town again awoke with the construction
of several new shopping and convenience centers, new recreation centers
and new housing developments. The city boasts a nationally recognized
recreation center, a championship golf course designed by Hale Irwin, and
a new $5 million municipal library.
Nestled on the high plains of the spectacular Rocky Mountains, Lafayette
offers a rich natural environment, popular summer and winter sports,

opportunities.
Located northwest of Denver, Lafayette offers a
